Saturday, I had a blast with Scotty and Kristina. Japantown then Chinatown then mi casa. It was more than enough comfort to make up for the past few weeks.
BUT THE REAL STORY...
On Friday, Jae came to visit. Went to lunch and such and then went to 4th street with her and Karen. It was excellent, the sun came out just in the nick of shopping time :). Went to MAC and got more makeup removing sheets. Then wandered to the Crate & Barrel outlet and the rest of the cool stores there.
On our way back... (this is the best part) Lancy calls and asks if we had jumper cables, because Lily wanted to go home but the car wouldn't start. I wasn't sure and told her I would come over anyway and we can check to see if Rayland's car had jumper cables. Right as I pulled into the driveway, I realized that last semester Farrah asked if we had jumper cables and we don't. HAHA, but it was on the way and it was totally the best time to forget that small detail :).
Anyway, Lancy got Mike to bring David's car keys so that we can get the jumper cables from his car. Unfortunately, Rayland's battery was no where to be found in his insanely complicated car -__-. So Ali showed up with two pledges and the rest is more than epic. (video posted soon!)
Bottom line... 1 hour, 4 cars, 2 sets of jumper cables, and 8 Berkeley students. Lives of nerds are sad, yes... I know.

Distance Does NOT Make the Heart Grow Fonder
I need a pet, and I DON'T mean those fish Rayland left me with. LOL. Puppies are expensive man. It's like having a kid minus the paying for a college education part :).
So I'm looking at Netherland Dwarves and they're not so bad (in terms of price). The thing about rabbits is... they stink. My 6th grade science teacher and a bunch of them in our classroom and it smelled like a zoo in there all the time :(. But I really want a pet I can play with on occassion since I'm growing insanely lonely :(.
Yesterday I used my MAC lipstick for the first time in a long time. It's the lustre lipstick in Nude Rose and I got it when MAC collabed with DSQUARED. Anyway, other than being a super pretty color, it helped scrub away the dried skin on my lips. Yeah, I know gross. But no matter how much Chapstik I slather on, I can only give the appearance that my lips are super moisturized. Anyway, I used the lipstick and woke up with fantasticly smooth lips :). So proceed to give that a try lol.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today is also Lunar New Year, which so far has been okay. Nothing has gone according to plan, but those things just revolve around where we were supposed to eat brunch etc. Other than that, the house is festive and last night there were an insane amount of firecrackers in the neighborhood. This surprised me because I thought there were way less Asians living in this area haha.
Anyway, because it's Lunar New Year, no one acknowledges the fact that its Valentine's Day in the house. Most people who know me will now be thinking "Uh... I didn't think your traditional Chinese parents would acknowledge it in the first place." WRONG. Usually, my parents would make some lame comment like, "Oh, did you get anything from any boy?" etc. Especially to Linae since my mom thinks she'll be alone forever and she seems to think that every person either of us become romantically involved with will leave us for one reason or another. I know, sad.
Sadly, Rayland is gone so even if the New Year's festivities weren't in play, I would have no plans -__-
BUT, I finally gave Hero a wash! Well actually, my brother did. He games all day long and stays cooped up in his bedroom. I therefore decided that it would be great to get him outside (it was a nice day finally!). So even though he declined to come I told him he had to (betcha it was a lot easier than anything you even try to convince your 14 year-old brother to do lol). He did a superb job and it was the most manual labor I have ever seen him do.
Afterwards, Linae and I went to the mall and gave Toasties another visit :). That crab melt is deeeeelicious so everyone should go try it.
The other day I put on my FB that I was blogging and Cherry asked if I had a make-up blog. Sadly, I am not pro enough to do something like that LMAO. Those make-up gurus on youtube really know what they're talking about (check out fafinettex3 or the lovely michelle phan). BUT, I did do loads of shopping with Caronita on Friday and made a NARS purchase at Nordstrom. She was looking for concealer and I was telling her that I love my NARS duo in Custard/Ginger (if you're wondering why you need 2 shades like she was, it's for when you get tanner or when you lose the tan etc.. ALSO, not everyone is lucky enough to have even tones all over). Anywho, one of the make-up artists asked if I wanted a touch-up and I said YES of course :). After he was done with the concealing and the powder and what not, he took out the blush. If you know me, you'd know that I'd be like.... O.O............. uhhhh.... NO. Because I have a natural blush and I get red SUPER easily. After telling him about the insane reddness, he went ahead and put on blush anyway and I'm like WTF.
BUT, lucky me :) he knew what he was doing and VOILA, no appleface. Basically, he says to choose a blush that's less on the red/pink side (he used NARS blush in Zen). Then he applied a shimmer layer. THIS, I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED. It's NARS blush in Luster and you only need very little of it. I put it on today over my powder and without any other blush and am very satisfied.
Then I made my little spiel about how much more I like the male make-up artists than the female ones haha. They just wanna make you pretty and NOT turn your face into a canvas when you don't want it to be. But if you like that, by all means choose the female make-up artist haha.
To summarize my extremely long post...
1) NARS Blush in Zen = NOT red face
2) NARS Blush in Luster = pretty subtle shimmers
3) Male make-up artists > female make-up artists
4) Try Toasties' Crab Melt!

YAY Saints :D
Linae had her birthday party on Friday night. The boys came over with the usual crew of girls. We ate a ton and they played A LOT of Rock Band. Like a ridiculous amount. Then there were presents and Partini! Dude that game is freakin' awesome. I think I'm putting it on my birthday list. It's like Cranium, but I feel like with better categories.
Then on Saturday, Karen, Beckie, Linae, Rayland, and I went to have tea at Secret Garden. It was super cute and delicious, but NOT FILLING (tea parties never are). But it was pretty regardless. The rest of the day was spent wandering around Japantown.
Superbowl was okay. HAHA Yay for the Saints! Me and Rayland went to get food and missed half-time and a bunch of the awesome commercials. Doritos commercials are always the best! My favorite was the samurai one. AND everyone loves the cutie telling whatshisface to keep his hands of his mama and his doritos :D.
BUT, if you missed the game... I have heard several people in my classes say "You didn't miss anything." HAHA which is true.
Classes are toughening up and I am ready to hit the liburry again.
ALSO, I need a gym buddy -__-
